Summer courses – INSIDE ESMOD programs
Our “Inside ESMOD” programs take place on campus and are available in French and English (Paris).
More in-depth than our introductory courses, they are aimed at both high school students, and at all those who want to acquire the first basics in styling, model making or Fashion Business.

Fashion Design
During the first 2 weeks of this course, you’ll see the parallel and inseperable link between design and pattern-making by learning the fundamentals of each, including an intro to eco-conscious design via an upcycling workshop. You will learn the basic techniques of fashion design as you learn to execute fashion sketches via figurines (robotic, swaying, etc.) You will then work on your own personal creative universe via the creation of moodboards and collages. This research will then be integrated into your figurines, as you add color and style, until you’ve ultimately created a complete design board. You’ll discuss what goes into creating a collection and how to construct a collection plan. At the same time, you will have the chance to develop your fashion sensibility by exploring the key fashion neighborhoods in Paris, trends, textiles and more!

Pattern-Making
Les deux premières semaines (la première semaine à Roubaix) du programme vous montreront le parallèle et le lien indissociable du stylisme et du modélisme : vous vous initierez aux fondamentaux de ces deux disciplines et travaillerez également sur un projet de création éco responsable basé sur la chemise lors d’un atelier d’upcycling. Puis, vous découvrirez les différentes techniques de modélisme : patronnage, coupe à plat, moulage, tableau de mesures… qui vous amèneront à la construction d’une jupe droite en coupe à plat. En parallèle, vous pourrez parfaire votre culture mode en explorant des quartiers emblématiques de la mode à Paris et en développant vos connaissances sur les matières et les tendances.

Fashion Business
This course will allow you to take a first glimpse into the world of fashion, get to know the different fields and key players, understand its environment and trends. We will take you through everything from the history of fashion, to the concepts of marketing and communications; trend forecasting, and each step of the life cycle of a product and the construction of a brand.
This program is comprised of courses led by professionals in the industry, various workshops, lectures, virtual or physical visits to key fashion venues, and a variety of other indispensable activities.
